A land grab threatens to destroy a declining dynasty

When the huge Lawson cattle station has no heir, rival factions in Australia see an opportunity to take control. The series was filmed in the Northern Territory and South Australia, remote locations hardly inhabited – let alone on screen. Locations include the UNESCO World Heritage site Kakadu National Park – with special permission from the traditional owners – and Tipperary Station, an actual working cattle station so big it has its own airport and school.
Yes, they compare it to Yellowstone
Yes, it has the same over-the-top plots, conflicts, and wacky characters. Yes, it can refer to many similar problems. To me, the two main issues are things that only happen to move the plot forward.
Actions that make no sense
The family patriarch just decides on succession without really weighing the pros and cons of each option. The second is plot holes, which exist for a similar reason, to move the plot forward. The station is said to be the size of Belgium, but it is family run (4 people at first, later expanded to a bit more) and the crew seems to be the backbone.
The tension rises, the conflict deepens, passions stir
But of course greedy companies try to take it from them. I also didn’t like how everything kept piling up. and then within half an hour things are (sort of) resolved.
The filming is good, the nature is beautiful
But it’s not a bad show if you can look past that.
